Our Mission

Empowering the Next Generation of Professionals

The Career Connect Initiative was created to bridge the gap between high school students and the professional world. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn directly from real professionals.

Our program connects high school students from all backgrounds with local businesses/business owners for short-term unpaid internships (2–7 days). These experiences are designed to be accessible, low-commitment, and impactful making it easy for students to explore different career paths.

Through hands-on exposure, students gain valuable insight into day-to-day work environments, build meaningful connections, and develop a clearer understanding of their future goals. At the same time, local businesses have the opportunity to mentor and inspire the next generation of talent in their own communities while additionally being featured on Our Hosts page.

Who is eligible for the internship program?

High school students grades 9-12 are encouraged to apply.

How long do internships typically last?

Most internships run for 2-5 days. We offer flexible scheduling during the summer or school year to ensure the experience doesn't conflict with school responsibilities.

What are the primary requirements for businesses?

Participating businesses must provide a safe work environment and assign a mentor to support the student for the internship duration.

Are these internships paid or unpaid?

Currently the internships are unpaid but we are working on aquiring funding through grants to support a student stipend.

We use a detailed interest-based matching system. Once a potential match is found, students participate in a brief interview with the business to ensure mutual alignment.
